I’m changing my lifters today, and I’m not sure if I should be putting assembly lube on the cam lobes, since the lifters will be the only new part. Thoughts?

Also, if I do use assembly lube, do I need to change my oil soon after?

break it in like you were breaking in a new cam. assembly lube on lobes and cam. zinc additive, do the procedure...... 2000 + rpm for 20 CONTINUOUS minutes, varrying the rpm. shut it off, change oil AND filter....... when you are breaking in a cam and lifters, you are basically mating the contact surfaces of the lobes and cam. and the first 20 minutes together is THE most important time in its life...... muss it up, and you kill the cam, or a lifter, or both.......

FUN stuff.......

heh, all that and i forgot to ask....... flat tappet right?......
